Our visit to Death Valley by: Robert Swetz (Part Two)

Not everything is dead in Death Valley and I have the proof to show it. I posted several blogs before this one on Death Valley and I have so many photographs that I wanted to share with everyone.

This photograph above was taken right in the middle of Death Valley and there were Palm trees every where, it was so beautiful, green and alive.

Hiking at Red Rock Canyon - Las Vegas - Nevada by: Robert Swetz

Photograph by Robert Swetz - Red Rock Canyon

When I first moved to Las Vegas, it was almost one year before anyone mentioned to me about Red Rock Canyon. And once I received a taste of the beauty that surrounds the Red Rock Canyon area, I was hooked.

If you live in Las Vegas, you know what I am talking about. And for anyone that has been to Las Vegas and never been to Red Rock Canyon, well........sorry!

Red Rock Canyon has hiking trails every where and when my wife and I use to go there we would go to Calico Basin because it was free and very few people around, a hang out for (locals). We use to hike to the top when ever we would visit, it would take about one hour to get to the top of some smaller mountain tops. From the top you could see parts of the Las Vegas (Strip)!

The photos were taken 2-24-2009 when I stopped to take photos of the sunset. These people at the top are on the back side of Red Rock Canyon, where the rock is really not very red.

In the photo above you can see at the bottom the deep red color that the park and Canyon were named after.

If you ever plan to visit Las Vegas please bookmark this blog to keep my contact numbers and I will drive you and your family out to Red Rock Canyon, it's only 20 minutes from The Las Vegas Strip!

It will be a visit you will talk about with everyone and in June the flowers bloom and it is breath-Taking!

Our visit to Death Valley by: Robert Swetz

Photograph by Robert Swetz - Death Valley California 2-21-2009

We had a wonderful time in Death Valley and the different colors of the sand and mountains is breath taking. We may have planed our visit a little early because the flowers bloom in March some time, so we will be taking another drive to Death Valley in March.

In the photograph above it looks like water or ice in the middle of the picture, but that is salt!

The photos below show the many different colors of sand to create the striped colored mountains.

Searching for a change or feeling a little bored?

Searching for a change or feeling a little bored?

There are many people that go through these feelings of boredom and frustration. It might be where you live, it might your job, it might be whom your with in a relationship. It could be many things that may be helping you to feel this way.

It could be within yourself and in order to fix the feelings of boredom you must work from the inside out.

I have always been a person that keeps moving, I believe a rolling stone gathers no moss. For months now I have wondered why I continue to live in Las Vegas when I love California so much?

I just want to travel and get payed to take photographs along the way.

My wife and I are going to start a travel agency and she mentioned that I could be a travel agent for Americans, Canadians, etc, that are interested in tours to Myanmar (Burma) & Thailand.

I am looking for suggestions from my friends at Activerain?

I would get payed to travel, take photographs of foreign countries and show others the wonders of the world.

I could not do it every week because I would get jet-lag and it would be very hard on the body & mind. I am thinking maybe twice per month.

I am open to others opinions on this subject.

On our way to Death Valley California by: Robert Swetz

Photograph by Robert Swetz - Death Valley California 2-21-2009

Our trip to Death Valley California was cut short because of business reasons.

Death Valley was nothing like I expected, we had a wonderful time and we will be going there in March because the flowers will be bloom, and we will stay for a few days.

In the 5 hours that we spent in the park I shot a 227 photographs and the ones that I have attached to this blog are areas that we saw before reaching Death Valley.

I will have around 4 parts to my Death Valley blogs because I would like everyone to really get a feel of how beautiful Death Valley really is. From the lowest point below sea level to Scotty's Castle, you will be amazed.

The photo above is a favorite place I want to visit, but many people from Las Vegas tell me not to go there because they don't want anything bad to happen to me.

I will be showing my photos in order in the way they were taken on our trip, from beginning to end! Stay tuned for the blogs to follow with wonderful photographs of Death Valley!

I am driving to Death Valley to shoot some photographs!

Photograph by Robert Swetz

I am driving to Death Valley today to shoot some photographs!

It is only a three hour drive from Las Vegas and my wife and I might stay for a couple days. I have never been to Death Valley and I have heard the best time to go in now because towards summer the temps can get up to 140 degrees.

There is area there that is the lowest elevation in North America. I am bringing my cameras so if there is anything alive in Death Valley I will make sure I get a photograph of it.

The reason I have attached these photographs to the blog is because they are so full of life and water, much different from where I am headed today!

Beautiful Pink Clouds! by Robert Swetz

Photograph by Robert Swetz - Myanmar (Burma)

This beautiful photograph of pink clouds I have posting to a special group I formed about 4 months ago called:

 CLOUDS AT ACTIVERAIN (clouds attached)

The group has some wonderful members with some wonderful photographs of clouds. So when your cruising around town, the country or just hanging out in a park some where, make sure you have your camera at hand. I always keep a camera in the trunk of my car so when ever some clouds creep up on me like these did I just snap a photo.

Then I post it to this group so everyone can take a look, clouds can be very amazing.
