Don't you think this baby should be wearing a life preserver?

Where is his Life Jacket?

photo taken by Robert Swetz

If anyone is familiar with these type of boats you would that they tip very easily.

By looking at this young baby/ child he looks like he might be as old as 2 at the most. I am wondering if this little boy is a novise swimmer? Or if maybe his family even knows what a life preserver is.

If this boat was to tip over by waves from others boats waves, etc. do you think this little boy would live?

These people are very poor and this is a way of life for them. There is a very large group of people that live right in the middle of the lake in huts with stilts. They are very poor people and I really don't think they have ever seen a life preserver or know what one is.

This is something I don't think you would ever see in America.

Just another day at the park - Maybe for some of us

Another Day at the Park

photo by Robert Swetz   Myanmar - Burma 5-18-2008

Just another day at the park - (maybe for some of us)

As your looking at the beauty and scenery at this park it looks like just another day at the park, right!

But as you look real close at the very top of the photo you can see a tripod and two people dresses in red, walking this way. Also if you look real close you can see a man squatting down with a box of some sort in front of him.

The people dressed in red that are walking this way are movie stars, the man next to the camera is the director and the man squatting down is the camera man.

They were filming a commercial in the park with temperatures of 100 plus degrees and very high bhumidity. We saw them in the pavilion not long after this photo was taken and the actors & film crew were having a very difficult time because of the heat.

I can understand why they were filming in the park because it is one of the most beautiful parks I have ever been to. Why they were filming in the hot temperatures and high humidity, not a clue!

This post is dedicated to the (NEW) Toot your horn on Active Rain Group

OK - Let me Toot my horn to the group!

Hello everyone! My name is Robert Swetz

I have been a Artist, Writer and Photographer for over 30 long years now. Born and raised in Minnesota my father brought me into the construction trade back in 1973 and I have been and still am a journeyman glazier (glass worker) and foreman on huge projects in Las Vegas. I have worked construction Jobs in Minneapolis, St Paul - Minnesota, Portland - Oregon, San Francisco - California and Las Vegas -Nevada.

After glazing for the first 20 years I started to pursue other career options and started to buy Real Estate properties. I have several properties in Minnesota, Nevada, California and Nevada. I also became licensed Realtor in the State of Nevada 6 years ago.

I have 5 different web sites because I believe that the web is the way of the future and really getting yourself out there. I belong to several different networks world wide and Active Rain is one one of my favorite and #1 networks.

I specialize in Commercial Properties in Las Vegas - Nevada, Commercial Vacant/ Residential Land, High rise luxury Condos, Custom Homes, and Vacation Properties. I also own a consulting firm and specialize in vacant Lake front, River front, and Ocean front properties in Nevada, Utah, Idaho, Washington State, Oregon and California.

Some people may ask me, how can you juggle so many different jobs and do so many things? Believe me sometimes it becomes very difficult. When I have someone that is interested in properties, advise about Real Estate Investments or what ever I specialize in, I go out of my way to give them best service possible.

I have some very huge projects coming up in the future and I am very proud to be a part of the   Toot Your Horn on Active Rain   and really believe this group is going to go very far within the Active Rain Network.

I really look forward to reading more about members and learning different personal milestones, hobbies, and very interesting things about them. Thanks again to Bo & Ron for making this happen, you guys are the best!

Friends of mine!

PS - Here are some other friends of mine, these are figures of spirits in Myanmar (Burma)

Condo Prices are down, down, down! Great investment opportunities.

LAS VEGAS CONDOS

There some great investment opportunities happening all over the United States and prices are down, down, down. And these prices will be dropping more before the years out.

Right around November - December is going to be the best time to purchase Real Estate Properties.

Prices on homes, condos, etc, have dropped in value almost 50% already in Las Vegas - Nevada. There are condos that sold for $180,000 three years ago that you can pick up for around $80,000. And even cheaper if you purchase a REO.

Myself, I am looking at purchasing several condos as close to the (Strip) as I can get. Reason, easier to rent out because most people that live in Las Vegas work on the Strip. Purchasing as close to the Strip is a good investment also because within the next five years give or take, big investors will come through and knock down the old condos and build straight up. And do you think you will make any money if they knock down the old to bring in the new, of course you will. Maybe three times what you purchased it for.

Is there a problem getting renters out when their not paying the rent in Las Vegas, NO! You can have them out in as little as 2 months max.

For anyone that might be interested in purchasing investment properties feel free to contact me any time at your own convenience. I look forward to doing business with anyone that wants to own a piece of the Entertainment Capital of the world. And one of the fastest growing cities in the country.

Please post your job description: (Members want to know)!

Burmese man working

photo taken by Robert Swetz   Mandalay - Burma, May 2008

The Active Rain Network consists of many different professionals with so many job descriptions.

This man in the photo above is a pan-handler playing music for money.

At Active Rain we have Real Estate (RE) Sales Agents, RE Brokers, RE appraisers, RE Home decorators, RE Home Inspectors, RE Etc, etc. There are Mortgage Brokers, Mortgage Sales Agents, Mortgage etc, etc. And there are many other different job classifications with Active Rain that I don't want to mention, because it is unnecessary.

I have heard from other professionals in the field of business to try and focus on one job, become very good at what you do. I will agree with this way of thinking accept the world is forever changing, and our minds change also from day to day.

For me I juggle many different jobs/ businesses and I am very well at all of them. I also have income coming in from all of these jobs/ businesses, and if one of them is not producing income I drop it. And may or may not form another job/ business.

My point is to not limit ourselves as to what we can or cannot do. Humans are capable of juggling many different tasks, jobs and careers at the same time. (For the men) believe it or not women are much better at juggling many different tasks, jobs, and careers at the same time, no offense to the men.

I am going to be very truthful about what I am about to say. I don't want to brag in any way, but I would like everyone at Active Rain to know a little bit more about me if you don't already know. What my day consists of, my dreams, businesses, goals, etc.

I also think it would be a great idea for members to post a little more about ourselves so other members have a better idea about what we specialize in, etc. I know we have profiles of ourselves, but not everyone looks at these. I really think that if members were to post a blog with a small description, there are going to be other members that will go (WOW), I didn't know they did that. Or possibly open more doors for business opportunities and transactions.

This is a short description of my work environment:

Real Estate Agent in the State of Nevada - Consulting Land Specialist for a consulting Firm, States include: Nevada, California, Oregon, Utah, Washington and Idaho - Land Investments in Minnesota, Nevada, California and Myanmar (Burma) - Professional Photographer with 30 years experience - Artist & writer - Journeyman for 30 years, Glass installation on High-rise Construction buildings (Foreman position) - Owner of several jewelry businesses in Las Vegas, Nevada, three shopping malls and one Casino on the Las Vegas Strip. And owner of a Match Making business.

Now that I have shared more about myself and the type of businesses I am involved with, we may have more in common and my be able to do business together. Business is not always about Sellers & Buyers of properties, please try not to limit yourselves to this way of thinking.

Please feel free to reply back with a description of your work environment.

" THANK YOU AND HAVE A WONDERFUL DAY/ EVENING "

Strangest looking statue I have ever seen! (please reply)

Strange Statue of Buddha

photo by: Robert Swetz    Bagan Myanmar (Burma)   May - 2008

This has to be one of the strangest statues of Buddha that I have ever seen.

As I was walking around in Bagan waiting for a buggy ride to the next temple I came across this statue inside a small structure very close to the road.

As I looked inside the structure I saw was this Buddha statue, at first I didn't think nothing of it, but as I got closer I saw this strange looking head in the chest of the statue of Buddha.

What I was wondering was this head inside the Buddha statue put inside the chest cavity while the statue was built or some time after? And why was the head put inside the Buddha statue.

At the time I took the photograph I want to ask quetions and find out but their were to many Burmese trying to sell me tourist junk so I just wanted to get out of the area.

This statue dates back approximately 1000 years.

If anyone knows the reason for this creepy looking head put inside this statue please let me know?

 Robert Swetz

PS, The white spot on the cheak of the head, could that be a ghost of some sort?

BAGAN-MYANMAR (BURMA) MAY 17-2008

Well everyone, I know I mentioned that I would only post Real Estate blogs for 7 days. Well I only made it for 5 days and I'm sorry, will you forgive me.

I just can't help posting my photos to my fans at The Rain, I am addicted to reading peoples comments.

If you think you might be having a bad day, how would you like to be this guy? How do you think he got all this grass and twigs on top of this cart? And how do you think he gets around with out it falling down off the cart?

If you think you job is hard today, just think about this man having to get all these grass and twigs on the cart with spiders, dirt, no ladder or machine to help him shovel it on.

Sometimes we take our jobs for granted.

Today, I would like everyone to break a sweat and get out there and make some money.

It sure is nice to be back and not talk about Real Estate. If you take a look at one of my two posts before this one, I went out and took some great photos of Las Vegas projects on The (STRIP), put a lot of work into a Real Estate post and received something like 4 comments. People just don't want to hear Real Estate right now.

Then I can post a photo of beauty and I get 20 comments, and very nice comments at that!

 " Have a Wonderful Day Everyone "
